Practicing the craft you want to perfect can be hard, but if you set aside even a small amount of time every day to practice, you will see improvement. I've been doing the daily design challenge every day for the last few weeks, and I'm already amazed at how much my drawing has improved. Yes, it's still rudimentary and simple, but I'm starting to relax into it and that's making it easier and more fun. While I am focusing on drawing for my daily design practice, you can do the same thing with Web design. If you want to get better at the craft of Web design practice is critical. And it only takes a few minutes a day.

Good luck with the drawing, I recommend going to what the Germans (and not only) call an Akt – sketching/drawing a nude model – helps tremendously (if not the most).

Otherwise, I’ll also opt in to the daily design challenge, once I clear all my impending tasks for now. My forum id is ’snaketrouble’

Design: No; Develop: Every day. I find that design is only 1/3 of the job. Site development takes up most of the rest of the time, with CRM being the last third.

Not everyday, but your’re right: practicing frequently will give best results.

I don’t necessarily design / develop every day but I do check industry portals, news and blogs every day. There is always something worth learning about somewhere.
