Images make your Web pages slower. Learning to optimize your images is a critical skill for building Web pages. But another problem with images is when Web designers decide to use them for every even remotely styled text on your Web page.

Yes, images are the only way to get your Web page fonts to display exactly how you intend them to look in every situation. But the solution causes more problems than simply bowing to the way the Web works. After all, images won't be displayed on all browsers, are not as accessible as text, and load much more slowly than CSS and text.
